Urban scale risk assessment including SSI and site amplification

چکیده
Abstract Large-scale risk analysis is typically performed considering existing fragility curves, calculated in most cases without adequately accounting for local site amplification (SAmp) and soil-structure interaction (SSI) effects. Nevertheless, foundation flexibility effects may lead to a substantial difference the or loss estimates. Including these on city-scale vulnerability challenging due complexity of defining whole interacting urban system. We propose novel framework assessment structures influence SSI effects, suitable large-scale applications. The applicability proposed approach based globally available data regarding soil, foundation, building portfolio. Site considered directly resulting curves using response analyses. An improved taxonomy adopted make implementable OpenQuake software, introducing V S,30 H/B within structural features as proxies Finally, following performance-based earthquake engineering framework, outcomes methodological are estimate nominal probability failure selected classes belonging majority types city Thessaloniki, Northern Greece. main findings demonstrate that conventional way calculating different seismic evaluation, especially soft soil formations.

Surgical-site infections and the NNIS SSI Risk Index: room for improvement.
Surveillance of surgical-site infections (SSI), with feedback of appropriate data to surgeons, has been shown to be an important component of strategies to reduce SSI risk. For SSIs, the traditional wound classification system, which stratifies each wound into one of four categories (clean, clean-contaminated, contaminated, and dirty-infected), has been available since 1964. Limitations of this...
متن کاملComputer-aided Risk Assessment at Urban Scale. Model Definition and Validation on a Case Study
Disaster risk reduction has become a global urgent need. Similarly to other natural hazards, earthquakes may cause significant damages on a large scale. In Europe, seismic events mainly affect historical city centers, which are characterized by dense urban structure, usually constituted by ancient masonry and pre-code R.C. buildings, often in aggregate sequence. Historical city centers are very...

The item-level data from the State NAEP for grade 8 from 1990, 1992, and 1996 and for grade 4 from 1992, and 1996 were examined applying methodology developed for the study of dif...
متن کاملMethodology for qualitative urban flooding risk assessment.
Pluvial or surface flooding can cause significant damage and disruption as it often affects highly urbanised areas. Therefore it is essential to accurately identify consequences and assess the risks associated with such phenomena. The aim of this study is to present the results and investigate the applicability of a qualitative flood risk assessment methodology in urban areas. This methodology ...
متن کاملUrban network risk assessment using Fuzzy-AHP and TOPSIS in GIS environment
Risk assessment of urban network using traffic indicators determines vulnerable links with high danger of traffic incidents. Thus Determination of an appropriate methodology remains a big challenge to achieve this objective. This paper proposed a methodology based on data fusion concept using Fuzzy-AHP and TOPSIS to achieve this aim. The proposed methodology tries to overcome two main problems,...
